A New Year, A New Day

I started off 2017 determined to focus on the important things in life: friends, family, health, and happiness. A month and a half in, I’m feeling more more motivated than ever to simplify my life. The fact that the Danish concept of hygge, which is essentially taking pleasure in ordinary moments or simple rituals, has made its way across the pond couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s certainly one trend I’m thrilled to embrace. These days, there is nothing I enjoy more than cozying up with a good book and a cup of tea. While it’s not always easy to disconnect from today’s many distractions, it’s certainly worth the effort. This past weekend, instead of our usual New York City brunch, I invited a good friend over for a homemade frittatta and a walk in Prospect Park. There, we found The Boathouse bathed in the perfect afternoon light. Fortunately, it was one moment we didn’t miss.

Adventures in Babysitting

At a romantic resort in Italy’s lake district, language difficulties made my job irrelevant. Instead, my single status somehow made me the ideal babysitter. While relaxing with a book on a lounge chair overlooking Lake Garda, I suddenly found myself...

Honeymoon for One

Working at a spa magazine definitely has its perks. However, it’s not all Champagne facials and caviar creams. Oftentimes, it’s more like a honeymoon for one. In year’s past, I’ve traveled to the Riviera Maya in Mexico, Bora Bora in...
